Working Hours

Officers work a 56 hour week which allows 8 hours for 7 days. In addition there is a 3hour overtime per day.
Ratings work a 70 hour week which allows 10 hours ( 0800-1800 hrs ) for 7 days. Overtime is at Owners discretion and is payable as shown in the appropriate wage scale.

Extra Payments

Extra payments are only applicable for extra work such as hold, bildge or tank cleaning and renumeration is at the Owners discretion.

Leave Pay

Leave pay is as shown in the appropriate wage scale.

Duration of Contract

Standard duration is 6 months for officers and ratings +/- 1 month in Owners option.

Joining and Repatriation Expenses

These are in the account of Owners except in those cases where a crewmember breaches his contract . In such cases defaulting crewmember will be responsible for his own travel costs and those of his replacement

Compensation for death, injury or incapacitating sickness

Should any crewmember die whilst on service his legal heirs will be entitled to a lumpsum gratuity of usd 30,000 minimum. Should a crewmember be incapacitated by injury or sickness incurred or contacted whilst on board, he will be entitled to salary plus reasonable medical expenses up to a maximum equivalent of 4 month’s salary.

Termination of contract due to loss sale or layup

In cases where the minimum duration of a crewmembers contract has more than one month to run ( taken into consideration the owners option ) than the crewmember will be entitled to one month salary as compensation . In cases where the unexpired contract duration is less than one month , then he will be entitþled to a pro rata amount for the period remaining .

Transfer clause

All crew members can be transferred at any port to any other vessel under the operation of the owner at the owners cost and discretion

Discipline

All crewmembers are agreed to be bound by a rigorous code of discipline containing fixed penalty and forfeits for any willful breach

Work clothing

Owner supplies any specialized work clothes required
