Istanbul Ship Management was formed in 1994, during a difficult period for owners. Its mission objective was to identify and employ means of maximising earnings for vessels whilst reducing operating costs. These methods included improved supply side economies and enhanced efficiency.

The management team's attention turned to the "Turkish Import Cargo Tender System", long neglected by International owners. By diligent investigation of the system and close co-operation with the controllers of those cargos, ISM soon developed prominence in that niche market and an incomparable ability to service it at a profit.

By combining aspects of local captive business and close co-operation with first class owners ISM has been able to develop unique skills and provide a safe and protected business haven for it's partners vessels, whilst continuously refining it's employment of enlightened and successful business practices.
